As we get older, our eyes become more susceptible to conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. These can develop gradually, but early detection is critical to managing disease and preventing vision loss.
Our goal is to provide comprehensive eye care, detect early signs of disease, and offer personalized treatment plans to protect your vision as you age.
Request AppointmentWhat Are Common Eye Diseases & Conditions?
Whether you’re dealing with common conditions like eye allergies or more complex issues like glaucoma, we are here to guide you. Below are some common eye diseases and conditions we can diagnose and manage.
Eye Allergies
Allergies can cause itchy, red, irritated eyes and affect your daily life. If you suffer from eye allergies, we want to help relieve these symptoms and improve your comfort. Our team will work to identify the allergens triggering your reactions and recommend possible solutions, including prescription eye drops and lifestyle changes.
Cataracts
As we age, the lens of our eye can cloud, leading to cataracts—a very common condition. Cataract surgery is the only treatment and is highly successful. According to the National Eye Institute, 90% of Americans report clearer vision after surgery.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is an eye disease that damages the optic nerve and can lead to permanent vision loss. It is often called the “silent thief of sight” because it has no symptoms until significant damage has occurred. Treatment options may include eye drops, laser surgery, or traditional surgery.
Pink Eye
Pink eye is an infection of the conjunctiva, the thin membrane that covers the white part of your eye. It can be caused by bacteria, a virus, or allergies. Symptoms include redness, itching, and discharge from the eye. Our team can determine the cause of your pink eye and recommend appropriate treatment options.
Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that damages the blood vessels in the retina, leading to vision loss. Early detection and treatment can prevent severe vision impairment. Treatment options may include laser therapy or medication injections.
Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is a condition that affects the central part of the retina, known as the macula. It can cause blurred or distorted vision and lead to central vision loss. There are 2 types: dry and wet. Lifestyle recommendations and medical interventions aim to preserve vision and enhance quality of life.
Our Technology
We combine personalized care with modern technology. Our advanced diagnostic tools give us a clear picture of your eye health and help us detect and manage eye conditions early.
Early detection and intervention are crucial to maintaining healthy vision for years.
Optos Retinal Imaging
Optos retinal imaging captures a panoramic view of the retina in one comfortable scan. This noninvasive imaging helps our team detect early signs of eye diseases like macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy before they cause vision problems.
OCT
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a noninvasive imaging system that creates detailed cross-sections of the retina. These images help our team diagnose and monitor eye conditions like macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and glaucoma at their earliest stages.
Visual Field Testing
Visual field testing assesses your entire field of vision when you focus on one spot. This test helps us identify potential blind spots or areas of reduced vision that could indicate damage from glaucoma or retinal disease.
